  1. 3886: Different mailbox order

    From user Mattia:

I find the current view in the sidebar to be quite confusing. It currently looks like this:

    INBOX
    ├── ADDRESS1@DOMAIN.COM
    ├── ADDRESS2@DOMAIN.COM
    └── ADDRESS3@DOMAIN.COM
    SENT MESSAGES
    ├── ADDRESS1@DOMAIN.COM
    ├── ADDRESS2@DOMAIN.COM
    └── ADDRESS3@DOMAIN.COM
    ADDRESS1@DOMAIN.COM
    ├── Dir1
    ├── Dir2
    └── Dir3
    ADDRESS2@DOMAIN.COM
    ├── Dir1
    ├── Dir2
    └── Dir3
    ADDRESS3@DOMAIN.COM
    ├── Dir1
    ├── Dir2
    └── Dir3

That becomes quickly confusing when different accounts are archived in the program.

I would find it much better if the structure was more along the lines of:

    ADDRESS1@DOMAIN.COM
    ├── Inbox
    ├── Sent
    ├── Dir1
    ├── Dir2
    └── Dir3
    ADDRESS2@DOMAIN.COM
    ├── Inbox
    ├── Sent
    ├──…

  7. 3875: Pause after "Fetch rate limit hit"

User Michael get an error message "Fetch rate limit hit" after archiving about 1000 mails. He wants the app to pause and archive again:
    (1) pause for _ minutes after archiving messages, before resuming the archive process.
    or an option to
    (2) pause for ___ minutes during archiving if Mail Archiver X encounters "Fetch rate limit hit", then resume archiving again.

In my experience it seems like pausing after hitting the rate-limit doesn't matter. What matters is disconnecting from the IMAP server, reconnecting and re-authenticating, then resuming the archive process where you left off.

  10. 3923: Import with filter

In Setup, be able to specify a filter -- the same kind of choices as for Export -- so as to import into Mail Archiver X only those emails in the specified Client or Mailbox(es) that satisfy the filter.

  17. 3973: Add information to applog and sessionlog so that the user can check if everything was archived and downloaded

Users want to verify that every email, attachment and external file was downloaded. Add more information to applog and sessionlog about the archived emails.

Perhaps something like "mailbox xyz: emails 1000, archived 900, 100 duplicate" for the mailboxes. Then add some data for the external files.

  18. 3955: Add menubar icon

    From user Kevin:

I’d like to see a menu bar icon that would tell you when the last archive occurred, when the next was to occur, and had an “archive now” button.

  19. 3954: Make better workflow for laptop users with smaller SSDs

    From user Loyns:

For example, an external hard drive must always be connected to a MacBook.
It's awkward to turn on the external hard drive.

But I think it would be good if the data from Jan 1st to Dec 31st of a year could be automatically saved separately.
The current year is usually the most important year to search and can therefore remain on the internal hard disk for the time being.

Of course, this should only be possible by setting / request.
And if possible, he should also be able to do this automatically afterwards.

  20. 3931: Add check for macOS version to Kaju

If the user has a macOS version that isn't supported by the new version of MAX anymore then the new version shouldn't be shown in the update check.
